As an entrepreneur, it’s absolutely crucial to take time out to work ON your business, not just IN your business! The person that’s responsible for leadership, for seeding and driving the vision is YOU! Don’t spend all of your time doing what is urgent as opposed to what is absolutely important for long-term growth. Learn better, do better, innovate and grow your team and by so doing grow your profits!

Of course, you must review your goals periodically to ensure you are on track. Have you done more than you thought possible? Did you set your sights too low initially? Where do you need help? What is it that if you don’t start doing immediately, will mean that your goals will not be realised and your business would not succeed? How can you course correct/what do you need to do this day, this week, this month to get on track? Ask yourself the hard questions and then do the work it takes to build that institution!

I have read the Jim Collins book “Good to Great” twice in the last 4 years. I see that as I grow and my business grows, I learn a different thing from the same book or see what I have learnt differently.
