Hello you! I hope you are having a beautiful and relaxing Sunday afternoon. Sunday afternoon is my time to chill out at home and catch up on reading blogs I follow, surfing the internet for useful information and generally writing my expectations for the new week in my journal. Today, I realized what a tremendous blessing it is to have so many great people to learn from on various subject matters (you know what they say, “you are the same today that you are going to be in 5 years from now, except for two things, the people with whom you associate and the books you read”) and so I decided to share some of the people I “associate” with, with you. As a way to thank them for putting out good stuff and also as a way to introduce you to some great material you may not have known was out there. So here goes:

1. iRead Michael Hyatt’s blog at http://www.michaelhyatt.com:

Michal Hyatt, former CEO of Thomas Nelson Publishers, wrote "The Platform" and coaches on getting noticed in a noisy world through www.theplatformuniversity.com

Michael’s blog is focused on “intentional leadership.”  He writes on personal development, leadership, productivity, platform, and publishing. He has many great articles and I subscribe to his podcast as well. In recent times, I particularly loved his review of the Tony Robbins Business Mastery conference. I cannot wait to attend Business Mastery, I love Tony and wrote about attending Unleash the Power Within here. Read his post on Business Mastery here.

2. iRead Dave Ramsey’s thoughts on leadership at http://www.entreleadership.com  and http://www.daveramsey.com:

Dave Ramsey wrote "The Total Money Make-over", "Entreleadrship" and has the Dave Ramsey radio show syndicated on over 160 radio stations in America.

I think the Entreleadership website and Dave Ramsey’s blogs are powerful resources. If you are in business or  are a leader in any way or a sales person (and we are all sales people), you should have the Entreleadership Podcast as one of the podcasts you subscribe to. It is amazing information that you don’t want to miss out on. It’s literally one of those things that allow you climb on the shoulders of giants and not have to make every mistake yourself..

3. iRead Katherine’s blog at http://www.featherfactor.com

I am totally in love with this blog and it’s blogger because she blogs about a topic close to my heart- traveling! She does hotel reviews, has a great love affair with Hermes and has the most amazing interviews with a cross-section of really interesting people around the world!

Because I really love to travel, I get to travel vicariously through her blog, I shop luxury that I cannot yet afford and stay at the most beautiful places through her blog! When I have wanderlust, 15 to 30 minutes into her blog, I’m rejuvenated and ready to go, without the jet lag that accompanies traveling. Read some great travel posts of hers at http://www.featherfactor.com/2013/10/cape-town-cape-grace.html and www.featherfactor.com/2014/01/budapest-four-seasons-gresham-palace.html

4. iRead Wendy’s blog and enjoy her photos at http://www.wendyslookbook.com:

I am a chic’s chic any day and they don’t come “chicer” than Wendy, who writes a fashion blog. I love her sense of style but what I love the most about her is her vulnerability and humanness. I also love the fact that we grow with her on her blog.

I have to share a little of Wendy’s story, she grew up in the foster system, had to send herself to school, finished from school and started her blog along side her day job. She was diligent at what she did and Tacori saw her work, liked her sense of style and asked her to be a Tacori rep, she did that so well, she has now designed a beautiful very exclusive bracelet for Tacori. And what is most interesting is that she still works with the foster system, works with incarcerated youths and acts as mentor to some of these kids! People- get this, there is no separation between beauty and brains! They go hand in hand, you just have to develop yourself as a whole person rather than focusing on just an aspect of yourself.

5. iRead Dani Johnson’s blog at http://www.danijohnson.com

I also follow Dani on Facebook, she put this up yesterday.
I also follow Dani on Facebook, she put this up yesterday.

I must confess, Dani has influenced me a lot! She says something that’s sort of my mantra “the market place pays for value!” And with everything I do, I ask myself what value I am adding or creating, that the market place can pay for! She shares on “spirit driven success” and has a book in that title. This is important to me, because it’s not every advice about work and business that I want to take. I don’t believe that to rise, I must put someone else down, I believe that it can be great for us all, so I try to listen to and read people who look at business from the position of faith and how we can use God’s word and principles to make life better for all humanity!

A little about Dani too; Dani grew up on welfare in a violently abusive and drug-infested home. She was emotionally, physically, verbally and sexually abused on a regular basis. She was pregnant at 17 and homeless at 21. Instead of accepting what seemed to be her fate, Dani rewrote her story and by 23 she was a millionaire. In the years since, Dani Johnson has become a multi-millionaire many times over, owns five companies, is a best-selling author, internationally sought-after speaker and radio show host. Wow! I put all that just to show you, that you are not limited by your circumstances  or where you started from. You are limited by your own thoughts! Nothing is impossible!

There you have it, 5 people on top of my online reading list. I read a book every 10 days so I’m still all about paper and pens and circling and writing “WOW” in the margins and writing notes to expand on chapters I’ve read, but there are fantastic and uplifting materials online and great podcasts make any travel time worth it- I listen to Michael Hyatt, Dave Ramsey, Chris LoCourto, Steven Furtick or T.D Jakes in traffic, and by the time I get to my destination, I am charged and brimming with positive energy!

Have a great week! Who do you listen to and who do you read? Any great resources you’ll like me to explore?  Be awesome this week! Make a commitment to be totally outstanding!
